HANGTIME: FIREHOUSE ANNUAL ARTIST MEMBERS OPEN WALL EXHIBIT

All Firehouse Art Center Artist Members with 8+ volunteer hours and active memberships can apply for Hangtime, a Main Gallery Exhibit held in November. All members, whether painters, potters, photographers, or sculptors, are invited to share, hang and display their work. Created as a community building, collaborative exhibit, members are invited to line up to hang up on Sunday, November 2nd and 3rd, with the early birds getting to pick their spots first. At the close of the exhibits, the artists will return and deinstall their work, including time to patch the walls and help paint on November 30th and December 1st.

Hang Time opens on November 7th at 6pm during Downtown Longmont’s 2nd Friday festivities.

Application Requirements

Please read this section carefully. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered. The applicant’s name must appear on all materials submitted.

All materials must be submitted onlinehere by 10/20/2025.

IMPORTANT:FILES SUBMITTED THROUGH THE FORM MUST BE LABELED CORRECTLY- “YOURLASTNAME” FOLLOWED BY “SUBMISSION#” (example “picasso1”).

If an artist does not have access to a computer, s/he/they may call303-651-2787 to make arrangements to use a computer at the Firehouse Art Center.

Who May Apply
Artist members with active paid memberships ($45/year) and 8+ volunteer hours in the calendar year.

As a cornerstone of the Creative District, we exhibit thought provoking work in all mediums, including installation, film and performance art.

The artist agrees to the following terms and conditions for showing at The Firehouse Art Center:
1) To assume full liability for the work displayed at The Firehouse
2) To allow The Firehouse the right to photograph artwork to be used for publicity purposes.

Gallery team will choose artwork based on space.

“Hang Time” will be open to work of all sizes and mediums, and hanging will be done by members during a hanging extravaganza Sunday, November 2, at 12:00 – 2:00 PM, and Monday, November 3th, 4pm-6pm. You will be hanging the work yourself, so if you hang later, rather than sooner, you might have to get creative with the space… Firehouse staff will be around if you need assistance. If you are unable to come during these days, please reach out to arrange a drop off with Elaine(info@firehouseart.org).

You can submit photographs of up to 5 artworks, and we will decide which works will best fit in the space. If you apply with larger work you may only get one piece chosen, where smaller works we might choose multiple ones to allow all members space to show. We will let folks know which works have been chosen by October 26, 2025.

The show will come down on November 30 at 5pm. We ask that you pick up your work either at 5pm-8pm on the 30th or 4-6pm on the 1st. Please patch the hole your painting made at pick up, sand it and paint it! We are excited for this truly artist member led exhibit!
