Audio Engineer

Position: Audio Engineer

Department: Production

Reports To: Production Manager and Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Part-time Hourly, Non-Exempt

Summary

ASM Global has an immediate opening for an Audio Engineer at the Boeing Center at Tech Port in San Antonio, Texas. The Audio Engineer is responsible for ensuring the success of show and event productions by performing the technical aspects related to the show(s) production. Assist in all aspects of stage operations and on-site A/V operations, providing excellent professional service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform load-in & out of band equipment and rental equipment
  • Set up and break down of band and event equipment
  • Cabling and patching, working with the entire crew as a team
  • Make audio adjustments, maintain safe audio levels, and provide a professional mix
  • Operate audio control boards
  • Oversee visiting audio technicians during shows
  • Protect, maintain, and repair audio equipment
  • Assist with production throughout the venue as needed
  • Assist the Production Manager with technical advance with artists' representatives
  • Ensure proper care of all house and rental audio equipment
  • Interact with visiting production crews to ensure successful shows
  • Create or distribute audio plans
  • Operate audio systems throughout the venue
  • Meet and execute special events' audio needs professionally
  • Maintain relationships with local & national audio vendors
  • Assist lighting crew with stands, microphones, cables, etc.
  • Support special events operations

Education and/or Experience

  • Experience in pro audio systems, stage lighting, and basic video systems
  • Minimum of 3 years’ touring/stage production experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • High school diploma; additional experience may substitute for education
  • Preferred: College degree or technical certification

  • Advanced knowledge of audio engineering practices
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure

  • Leadership and teamwork skills
  • Maintain effective relationships with clients and staff
  • Flexible hours based on events, including nights, weekends, holidays

Certification in Dante/MADI/AES is a plus.

Physical Demands

Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, maneuver around the facility, lift up to 75 pounds, work at heights, and use a two-way radio. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
