Overview
Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking an experienced Training Manager of Signals, Communication & Train Control in Rancho Cucamonga, CA to join our team. The pay range for this position is $135,000 - $150,000.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, manage, and perform training programs for signals, communications, and train control (CADD, BOS, PTC), ensuring compliance with FRA Part 243.
- Test and train signals, communications, and train control employees on FRA Part 234 and 236, Scope Sections 15-17, SMM, and similar manuals.
- Spend approximately 33% of time in the field or at DOC and MOC observing, testing, mentoring employees.
- Promote Herzog’s culture and ensure regular attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; degree in safety, occupational safety, electronics, or computer science preferred.
- Certifications in safety, occupational safety, signal, communications, train control (CADD, PTC, BOS, MDM).
- Familiarity with FRA & CPUC standards, especially 234, 236, 243, 270, SMM, SCRRA GCOR; qualified in Hi-Rail territory across subdivisions.
- Expertise in railroad signals, communications, and train control systems.
- Strong management and communication skills.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Background check, motor vehicle report, valid driver’s license, and endorsements.
- Pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, drug screening, and safety certification.
Physical Requirements
- Perform light work, exerting up to 20 pounds.
- Walk on uneven surfaces, ascend/descend ladders, sit, stand, kneel, bend, squat.
- Pass color/vision and auditory signal recognition tests.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions and around heavy machinery.
