Lead Creative Writing Coach Job at Page 15 in Orlando

Join a dynamic team dedicated to fostering creativity and literacy in young writers! Page 15 is looking for passionate and dynamic Lead Creative Writing Coaches who are dedicated to empowering young writers in underserved communities. As a Lead Creative Writing Coach , you will support and lead after-school programs for underserved children and teens (ages 8-18) in downtown Orlando’s Parramore community. You will collaborate with program leadership to lead creative writing programs, research and design creative writing curriculum, and build community with students and program partners. This is a part-time position ideal for emerging educators and teaching artists with a background in creative writing and/or literature, youth development, and community building.

Details:

• Locations: UCF Downtown Campus, 500 W Livingston St. Orlando, FL 32801. Grand Avenue Neighborhood Center, 800 W Grand St. Orlando, FL 32805. Applicants must be able to provide their own transportation downtown.
• Schedule: After-school program hours run Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2-5pm. Schedule is somewhat flexible but Lead Writing Coaches must be available for at least 3 days of after-school programming as well as additional on-site hours for room set-up, program meetings, and in-school recruitment. Approximately 12-15 hours per week. Requests for schedule accommodations will be considered. Optional weekend programs available on occasion.
• Compensation: $18-$22 / hour.
• 2 Lead Writing Coach positions are available.
• Reports directly to Page 15 Programs Director
• Must successfully complete a Level 2 background check
