We are very excited to be hiring for a full-time, custom window treatment Design Consultant to work with clients in their home to design, measure, estimate, and ensure a delightful end to end experience for their new blinds, shades, or drapery project.

Started in 2018, we’re a specialty retailer with over 15 brands of window treatments.It’s our job to help clients find the best products for their needs, style, and interests - all at a competitive price.Once products are selected, we ensure a smooth installation process so our clients can enjoy their window treatments for years to come.

We are a small, family business but make a big impact on client’s lives. We’ve been voted MN’s best window treatment company four years in a row, can offer a flexible and independent working style, and are looking for someone to join the team to lead with service and style. Your role is to support our clients in a variety of ways and manage a number of key processes that are critical to providing a high touch, seamless custom window treatment experience to our clients.

The Design Consultant’s responsibilities include scheduling and meeting with new prospective clients, putting together project deliverables, placing orders with our vendors, following through with clients before, during, and after the sale, overseeing installation, and closing out the project. This position will also be responsible for posting on social media, networking with industry contacts and building relationships with key referral partners, and bringing in prospective clients to help grow the business.You will also be responsible for continuous learning and education in order to advise clients on the best options for their particular window treatment need or situation.

Other duties will include posting to social media, participating in home shows, meeting with prospective clients at our studio in Minneapolis, and a variety of other tasks and projects. We are a small business, so a self-starter with an initiative and eye to help grow the business and learn is extremely desirable.

Previous experience in one of the following is required; design or consultative sales role, interior design role, or window treatment specialty role. As is a passion for delighting customers.

Not only should you be comfortable working with clients directly in their home, you should also be comfortable with a variety of PC computer software (email tools, spreadsheets and databases), mobile tools and apps including social media, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.A proven track record of delighting clients or internal partners is a must.

Responsibilities

• Schedule meetings and appointments through email, over the phone, and social media.
• Travel across the Twin Cities’ metro area to conduct consultative sales meetings with prospective clients in their homes.
• Consult, design, measure, and order custom window treatment projects
• Follow up with clients after the initial meeting with a formal estimate, meeting recap, and next steps.
• Place orders with respective vendors via email, phone, or online.
• Liaison installation schedules with clients and communicate effectively with the installation team.
• Learn our suite of brands and products to be able to recommend and select the best options to fit our clients’ custom needs.
• Develop and grow your own book of business through networking and exceeding client expectations to encourage referral business.
• Post content to social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, help increase the company’s presence in these spaces.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree (Preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• 3 years of customer service/customer facing experience
• 1 year experience managing home services projects
• Familiarity with window treatments (blinds, shades, drapery, and shutters)
• High mechanical aptitude to measure and design window treatments
• Self-starter that can work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to travel locally (within 40 mile radius around Twin Cities’ metro) while transporting sales materials in company or personal vehicle

• Proficiency in Google Suite including Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Google Docs
• Experience with popular social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Canva, and Next Door
• Ability to lift 50 lbs
