The Graphic Designer is responsible for the design and production of publications including ads, brochures, posters, flyers, and other documents.

Essential Functions

Create publication art elements.

Use creative skills to formulate concepts and prepare illustrations from models, sketches, photographs, etc. , into computerized design.

Scan document and art in preparation for their use in publications.

Solicit quotes for ad costs, printing, and production costs.

Work with faculty and staff to develop marketing strategies and materials.

Qualifications

Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

Education & Experience

• Associate’s degree in Graphic Art required
• 4 years of directly-related work experience may be considered in lieu of required degree
• 3 years’ experience required
• Experience in an institution of higher education, preferably in a community college preferred
• A sample of a professional portfolio required at the time of interview

Working Conditions

General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
