Job Description

• Position Goals: The Temporary Part-time Librarian reports to the Director of Library Services and provides in-person and online reference and circulation assistance at the Library Service Desk. This role aligns with CCC’s commitment to creating an inclusive environment that respects and leverages diverse perspectives and experiences.
• Essential Functions:
• Assist the Director of Library Services in delivering library services to students, faculty, and staff.
• Support the development and use of library information technologies, including integrated systems, cataloging, website, and e-resources.
• Promote and evaluate the use of books, e-books, databases, media, and other resources.
• Develop online tutorials and assessment tools; participate in information literacy initiatives.
• Contribute to library marketing and outreach efforts.
• Create a welcoming environment conducive to teaching and learning.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
• Complete all mandatory compliance and safety training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Library Director.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science (ALA accredited preferred).
• Experience in an academic library is preferred.
• Experience researching online databases.
• Teaching or instructional experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of library functions.
• Strong customer service commitment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency with information technology.
• Ability to understand CCC’s borrowing policies.
