Note: Bilingual (Spanish/English) positions require advanced or higher fluency in Spanish.

This position is located at the Arvada Library and is full-time (40 hours/week), fully eligible for benefits.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Hourly Rate: $19.65 - $24.57 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service: Provide information, referrals, and reader’s advisory assistance in person, by phone, mail, and electronically. Assist with locating materials, online searching, and using library equipment. Promote programs and conduct community outreach.
• Core Library Services: Assist in collection development, evaluate materials, and support programming needs.
• Operational Organization: Maintain the library's appearance and safety, assist with collection maintenance, and create content for web and social media. Participate in displays and informational aids.
• Oversight: Assist in coordinating staff and volunteer schedules, and assume responsibilities in the absence of supervisors. Handle disturbances and emergencies.
• Bilingual Role Specifics: Conduct storytimes and Cuentacuentos in Spanish.

Persons must be able to perform all essential tasks and adhere to laws regarding patron privacy, confidentiality, and ADA compliance. Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are required, with testing for fluency.

Qualifications:

• Minimum one year of work experience, preferably in customer service or public library settings.
