Position Overview

This Part-Time Instructor is responsible for teaching Music courses for the Music, Theater and Dance Department. Courses may be taught in various modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live, MDC Online, and Blended Classes.

In accordance with Rule 6A-14.064, F.A.C., College Credit Dual Enrollment Courses offered at secondary school locations require candidates to be employed by an authorized MDC Dual Enrollment secondary school partner. Candidates must meet Miami Dade College Faculty Credential Statement qualifications, including SACSCOC’s Principles of Accreditation minimum criteria: A Master’s degree in the teaching discipline of the assigned course(s) or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline. (2025-2026 Academic Year)

• Recruits students
• Serves on committees
• Participates in departmental and College affairs
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music; or a Master's degree and 18 graduate credit hours in Music
• All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
• Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
• Ability to communicate effectively with students
• Ability to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community
• Ability to work in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
