We are looking for a Part Time News Director. The ideal candidate is current on local or national news impacting the community. Experience in radio broadcasting is required, especially relating to technical operations and on-air performance.
Locally, Alpha Media operates radio stations KJEL, KOZQ, KFBD, KIIK, KBNN, and KJPW, as well as www.myozarksonline.com. We will provide comprehensive training for the right candidate.
Responsibilities of This Position May Include
- Hosting a 1-hour daily show Monday through Friday featuring local content and prep time.
- Engaging with listeners via social media.
- Broadcasting live from remote locations and events.
- Operating the control console.
- Providing play-by-play for local sporting events.
- Maintaining affidavit compliance.
Requirements of This Position Include
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations.
- Proficiency with audio editing software and broadcast equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with station events and remote broadcasts.
- Strong listener engagement and public speaking skills.
- Problem-solving, multitasking, and deadline management skills.
- Skilled in operating broadcast and production equipment.
