Summary
The Communications and Outreach department at Jackson Health System is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist with a strong emphasis on creative and technical video editing/post-production. This is a chance to join a growing, forward-thinking creative team that produces a wide variety of content, from cinematic testimonials to fast-paced social campaigns, that reaches audiences across multiple platforms. Specialist will work in a collaborative environment where their creative input matters and their technical expertise will be trusted to shape high-impact, visually compelling stories.
This role is primarily focused on post-production, transforming raw footage into polished, on-brand content using advanced VFX, motion graphics, and cinematic editing. While the emphasis is on editing and finishing, the ideal candidate should also be comfortable shooting photos and video when needed to support projects. The pace can be fast, with a mix of planned campaigns and quick turnaround projects, so the ability to adapt and work efficiently is key.
Responsibilities
- Own the full creative process for multimedia projects, crafting polished, engaging content with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects and other software.
- Create long-form and short-form content with advanced VFX, motion graphics, and cinematic editing.
- Execute techniques such as rotoscoping, masking, motion tracking, and green screen replacement.
- Enhance visuals with animation, typography, branded graphics, and creative transitions.
- Shape narrative flow and pacing to maximize impact and audience engagement.
- Apply professional color grading, sound design, and music integration for polished results.
- Adapt deliverables for specific platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and internal channels.
- Collaborate with communications, design and branding, marketing teams to maintain consistency in style and messaging.
- Manage multiple projects on tight deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Applicants must provide a portfolio showcasing both long-form and short-form work. Please include examples that demonstrate expertise in VFX, motion graphics, and narrative editing, along with a brief description of your role in each project.
- Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.
- Bachelor's degree experience in related field is required.
