Job Title: Creative Director

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $100,000 $125,000 annually

Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Reports To: Partner & Principal

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Creative Director to lead the design vision and oversee the successful planning and delivery of projects for our New York Studio. This hybrid role combines high-level creative leadership with strong project oversight across all phasesfrom concept to implementation. You will collaborate with partners, principals, designers, and clients on a wide range of built environment projects, including signage, wayfinding, and experiential graphic design (EGD).

Key Responsibilities

• Inspire and lead the creative vision across multiple projects and teams.
• Guide conceptual development, storytelling, and design briefs that align with client goals.
• Oversee design quality through reviews at all phases.
• Mentor and support junior to intermediate designers through development.
• Facilitate internal design workshops and client presentations.
• Ensure consistent, innovative use of materials, methods, and creative techniques.
• Contribute to the evolution of internal creative standards and knowledge sharing.
• Support studio culture through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and team-building.

Project Oversight & Management

• Manage multiple concurrent projects from schematic design to post-construction.
• Develop and maintain schedules, budgets, and resourcing plans with coordinators and directors.
• Collaborate with leadership and design teams to track milestones and deliverables.
• Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure alignment and smooth communication.
• Coordinate documentation, technical drawings, and submittals with design teams.
• Apply construction knowledge to assess constructibility, compliance, and risk.
• Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and contractual obligations.

Team & Client Development

• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals, networking, and client outreach.
• Assist in hiring, onboarding, and performance management of team members.
• Promote a collaborative, communicative, and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in experiential graphic design, wayfinding, or related disciplines.
• Proven project management experience within the built environment.
• Strong design portfolio showcasing leadership in strategy, concept, and execution.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with construction processes and contract administration is an asset.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Experience working in a professional design consultancy or multidisciplinary studio preferred.
