The Visual Communication and Web Designer will support the design and delivery of engaging, visually impactful communications across digital platforms. The designer and editor must have hands-on expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Firefly, After Effects, Premiere Pro, XD) and other professional design and video editing software. The designer should be able to leverage AI plug-ins and AI-powered tools, such as Adobe Firefly, to streamline workflows and enhance the efficiency of design and video production. The role requires the ability to conceptualize and produce high-quality visual assets, ensuring brand consistency.
Key tasks include:
Graphic Design: Design infographics, fact sheets, newsletters, reports, PowerPoint presentations, icons, logos and other branding materials.
Web Design/UI/UX: Develop and update web page designs with user-friendly layouts, develop wireframes and prototypes.
Multimedia & Video Editing: Produce and edit technical how-to videos that are graphics-heavy and animation-driven, as well as promotional videos with strong visual storytelling, motion graphics, audio elements and visual effects.
Presentations & Training Materials: Create dynamic slide decks, templates and training visuals.
Design Asset Management: Build, organize, and maintain a library of reusable design assets (icons, templates, animations, video snippets and graphic elements).
Collaboration: Work closely with project leads to conceptualize ideas, adapt designs based on feedback and deliver high-quality outputs under tight deadlines.
High-quality graphic, web and video design outputs for organizational initiatives and campaigns.
Interactive presentations, training modules, manuals and other knowledge products.
Short-form videos (with text animation, motion graphics, and sound) for internal and external audiences.
Web Design Outputs: Updated and visually consistent web pages and digital interfaces.
UI/UX Outputs: Wireframes, prototypes and user journey mockups that demonstrate improved navigation, intuitive layout and enhanced user experience across platforms.
A maintained repository of visual assets for ongoing and future projects.
Educational Qualifications
A university degree or diploma (Bachelors or equivalent) in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Communication Arts, Web Design or a related field.
A combination of relevant academic background and extensive professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
A portfolio showcasing relevant work in graphic design, web design and multimedia is required
Experience and Skills
Minimum of 2 years of proven professional experience in graphic design, multimedia production and web design.
Experience with UI/UX design, including wireframing and prototyping using tools such as Figma or Adobe XD.
Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro), Figma or similar design tools, and MS PowerPoint.
Hands-on experience with motion graphics, animated text and video/audio editing.
Familiarity with HTML/CSS and content management systems is an advantage.
Creative thinking and a strong eye for aesthetics, typography and layout.
Demonstrated creativity, initiative, problem-solving skills, the ability to conceptualize ideas and propose innovative design solutions.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English; ability to adapt designs based on feedback.
Knowledge of accessibility standards is desirable.
