This is a Management Service position that serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

Main Purpose of Job
The purpose of this position is to ensure efficient Claims and Adjudication Center Operations in Baltimore, Maryland; to manage the resources of a Department of Labor (MDOL) MD Unemployment Insurance Claim Center; and to provide the highest quality of Unemployment Insurance services to customers which will support the economic stability of the labor force, businesses and the community.
POSITION DUTIES
This position reports directly to the UI Deputy Director of Benefits. This position is responsible for all unemployment insurance activities of the Charles Street Claim Center. The primary functions of the center are taking and processing claims and preparing claims for the adjudication process. The Center averages a staffing level of 55. In addition to the management and operation of the unemployment insurance functions, the Director is responsible for all logistical, maintenance and operational aspects of the building.
- Provide leadership and direction for the day-to-day operations in the Charles Street Claims and Adjudication Center applying MDUI Management Model standards to comply with USDOL performance measures and Maryland state law and attain Agency goals
- Meet or Exceed Federal Performance Measures and MDOL-MDUI Strategic Goals by effectively monitoring the functions necessary to comply with USDOL performance measures, Maryland state law, and MDOL Policies and Procedures.
- Community and Public Relations Activities
Education: Possession of a bachelors degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business Administration.
Experience: Five years of management/supervisory experience in claims taking or adjudication in a call center environment.
Desired Or Preferred Qualifications

Supervisory experience working in an unemployment claim center
Proficient with navigating through the BEACON benefit system.
