The IW SME Specialist Copy Editor -IWC Support Services is primarily responsible for providing the expertise required to review technical content and performing tasks in support of the Editor in Chief.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in irregular warfare, providing the research, analytical support, copy editing, and proofreading/editing support on all submitted journal products.
  • Engage with IW academic, global network for content, research projects, and papers to support the production of the Journal.
  • Support the development of a quarterly publication of a high-quality color magazine with global distribution to over 500 stakeholders.
  • Support the development and maintenance and maintain an advisory board of recognized global IW experts to guide and advise the production of the journal, further develop its network, and support the development and production of world class articles in the journal.
  • Support the development and review all public publications, social media, newsletters, press releases, news releases; social media, IWC Websites.
  • Collaborate closely with the Program Manager to align engagements and other work with the project plan.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in National Security, International Relations, Military Studies, or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in special operations, intelligence, or irregular warfare policy.
  • Extensive knowledge of gray zone conflict, resistance strategies, and hybrid warfare.
  • Experience in DoD planning, operational strategy, and interagency coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement training programs for military and government audiences.
  • Proven experience working with classified and open-source intelligence to inform IW strategy.
  • Familiarity with IW data, ability to conduct long-term analysis
  • Strong public speaking and writing skills, with experience briefing senior leaders and contributing to DoD policy discussions.
  • Familiarity with joint, interagency, and multinational training environments.
  • Ability to travel internationally as required.
  • Active or eligible for Secret Clearance.
