Here at Steve Madden, we are seeking a candidate with an aesthetic and taste level that coincide with our brand to work as our CAD Artist/Design Assistant in the footwear division. This role will work alongside our design team to help with the day-to-day Illustrator and Photoshop duties for current and future collections.

Here at Steve Madden, we are seeking a candidate with an aesthetic and taste level that coincide with our brand to work as our CAD Artist/Design Assistant in the footwear division. This role will work alongside our design team to help with the day-to-day Illustrator and Photoshop duties for current and future collections.

Major Responsibilities

• Assist the design team in the creation of CADs for sku selection
• Work closely with the sales team for CAD requests to be presented to clients
• Organize and maintain the materials library
• Support design to meet all administrative needs such as updating virtual wall, line sheets and organizing development samples/library
• Daily communication with overseas team and internal cross functional partners regarding development details & follow-up, timing, deliveries, costing options, etc.
• Responsible for creating and updating specs
• Work closely with the production team for continuous updates on any updates and changes to product
• Organize sourcing decks, approve artwork, and review trials
• Attend local textile fairs and in-house appointments with director to review seasonal lines
• Regularly shop competitors and aspirational brands for research
• Create trend reports based on market intelligence and research
  
  

Job Specific Requirements

• Ability to work and CAD in a fast-paced environment
• Sketching is a plus
• Computer proficiency in Mac, Word, Excel, Outlook
• Very strong Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator skills
• High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong design aesthetic
• Proven follow-up and follow through skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with shifting priorities
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbal
  
  

FULL TIME POSITIONS: The expected base salary for this position ranges from $26.44/hr - $31.25/hr. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
