About the Role

As a Media Support Technician at Rider University, you will support classroom, event, and campus media technologies, assist with computer and network support, and contribute to IT projects and student staff development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support classroom technology such as projectors, displays, sound systems, and control systems (Extron/Crestron).
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot AV equipment for meetings and events.
  • Operate and maintain cameras, microphones, and recording devices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on media systems.
  • Assist faculty and staff with instructional technologies like video conferencing and lecture capture.
  • Test and evaluate new media technologies.
  • Manage audiovisual equipment scheduling and inventory.
  • Provide user training and documentation on AV systems.
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware/software issues for PC and Mac.
  • Support enterprise printing and network issues.
  • Collaborate with desktop and network teams on campus-wide initiatives.
  • Contribute to software deployments and hardware installations.
  • Escalate tickets and communicate updates to users and management.
  • Mentor student staff supporting classrooms and events.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Produce and update process documentation.
  • Coordinate with IT units on campus technology projects.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and timely issue resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of related experience.
  • Experience with classroom and event AV/media systems.
  • Experience operating cameras and recording devices.
  • Support experience with PC and Mac.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and enterprise printing.
  • Experience with Zoom, MS Teams, or Webex.
  • Mobile device management experience (Jamf preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and transport AV equipment.
  • Certifications such as A+, ITIL, or Extron are a plus.
