Manager, Creative Services

The pay range for this position is listed below. Our pay ranges are built to allow for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as for room for growth and tenure achieved in a role over time. Typical new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity.

Pay Range:

$127,961.00 - $211,136.00

What You’ll Be Doing

This critical role shapes the creative heartbeat of Strategic Marketing, ensuring every deliverable is visually compelling and unmistakably on-brand. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and strategic leader with a strong background in visual design, content strategy, brand governance and creative team management. They ensure that all creative — across print, digital and multimedia channels — meets high standards of clarity, consistency and impact.

  • Creative Oversight: Lead the development and execution of creative assets to ensure strong visual hierarchy, inclusive design and aligned messaging that reinforces our brand across all channels.
  • Creative Team Leadership: Manage a cross-functional team of designers, copywriters and content strategists to deliver timely, high-quality creative assets that support organizational goals.
  • Brand Integrity: Establish and champion design and content standards to ensure brand consistency, clarity, and readability in all Member-facing and internal communications.
  • Accessibility & Inclusion: Ensure design and content deliverables meet accessibility standards and serve the needs of diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative Planning: Serve as a creative thought partner across Strategic Marketing to ensure that campaigns are not only well-designed but also strategically effective.
  • Cross-Channel Alignment: Partner with internal teams to ensure marketing and communications efforts are visually cohesive and message-aligned.
  • Workflow & Prioritization: Oversee creative project workflows, ensuring transparency, efficiency and cross-functional alignment on priorities.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain review processes for content and designs, ensuring high levels of accuracy and adherence to voice, tone and style guidelines.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain relationships with external agencies and production partners, negotiate contracts, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Creative Technology: Oversee marketing technology related to operations, including project tracking tools and our digital asset management system, ensuring tools are effectively utilized and integrated.

Additional Job Functions

  • Provides daily support to staff, including answering questions and problem resolution, communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures and analyzing variances.
  • Contributes to organizational goals and priorities as a member of Management team. Establishes and implements plans that have short-term (1-2 year) impact on business results in alignment with organization objectives.
  • Evaluates operating procedures and policies, ensuring the highest levels of Member service, productivity and internal control.
  • Initiates, researches, coordinates and implements department or division projects intended to benefit Members, internal teammembers or department operations.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal laws as well as any other applicable regulations.
  • Understands the credit union organizational goals and key performance indicators and takes the necessary actions to achieve desired results.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required
  • 7-10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) preferred
  • Content Design or UX Writing Certifications preferred
  • Digital Asset Management Certification preferred
  • Certified Brand Strategist preferred

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Experience upholding and evolving brand standards across channels while maintaining flexibility to meet context-specific communication needs.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional creative teams – including designers, copywriters, content strategists and production artists — toward clear, aligned and high-impact deliverables.
  • Skilled in applying principles of content design to ensure readability, flow and clarity across digital and print formats.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure creative outputs support broader messaging strategies and organizational goals.
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices (e.g., WCAG standards), with a commitment to designing for diverse audiences — including multilingual and neurodiverse Members.
  • Expertise in streamlining creative workflows and intake processes across cross-functional teams, ensuring timely, prioritized execution.
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Solid understanding of marketing technology and experience in digital asset management and tracking/ticketing systems.
  • Strong eye for detail and quality assurance, including proofreading, layout accuracy and voice/tone alignment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
