Position Purpose
The Design Project Manager coordinates the design of construction projects, reviews drawings and finishes, manages vendor deliverable dates, and prepares stakeholder report documentation. The role involves maintaining and implementing company-wide design standards that meet regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and phasing renovation and finish upgrade projects at existing hospitals at a program level.
This position is based at our Home Office in Birmingham, Alabama, with travel up to 10%.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Manage design consultants, owner consultants, contractors, vendors, and teams.
- Manage design project schedules at both individual and program levels.
- Identify and analyze new materials to meet operational objectives and initiatives.
- Maintain resource library, database, and implement design standards.
- Address hospital emails and questions regarding finishes in existing hospitals.
- Provide project management services on design projects.
- Maintain industry registration/certifications through continued education, seminars, and courses.
- Travel to hospitals to coordinate design and construction projects.
- Organize, plan, and manage time effectively to complete assignments.
Qualifications
License or Certification:
- Licensed Interior Designer
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a similar field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience
- Healthcare experience
- Proficiency in Adobe, PowerPoint, and other relevant computer applications
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; fluency in English; active listening.
- Strong information ordering, deductive reasoning, social perceptiveness, time management, and critical thinking.
- Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner.
- Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.
