Graphic Design Resident Job at Choose901 in Memphis

ObjectiveThe Graphic Design Resident will serve as a creative and organizational force for City Leadership’s design work. This is an intensive, part-time role for a highly organized and detail-oriented designer who will act as the guardian of City Leadership’s brand across all campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Uphold and enforce brand standards across all City Leadership campaigns (Choose901, Teach901, Serve901, Give901, and others).
• Design and produce high-quality creative assets, including corporate decks, branded documents, infographics, event flyers, posters, digital graphics, and other collateral.
• Ensure every design meets the highest standards of alignment, spacing, typography, and visual consistency — with meticulous attention to detail.
• Maintain and organize brand assets, templates, and design files in a way that allows the broader team to work efficiently and consistently.
• Support the marketing team by translating campaign concepts into cohesive visuals that tell a compelling and consistent brand story.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external creatives (photographers, videographers, etc.) to integrate assets seamlessly into design projects.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while delivering polished, professional results.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio that demonstrates clean, consistent, and detail-oriented design work.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Canva with familiarity in Figma or similar tools.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to keep design files, templates, and projects clean and accessible.
• A sharp eye for typography, alignment, and the small details that elevate branding from good to excellent.
• Ability to manage feedback, revisions, and multiple deadlines with professionalism and efficiency.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for design as a tool for impact and for supporting the work of City Leadership.

Residency DetailsThis is a part-time residency designed to provide professional-level design experience in nonprofit marketing. The Graphic Design Resident will receive mentorship, build a portfolio of impactful work, and directly support campaigns that shape the future of Memphis.
