As part of our strategic growth, Comcast NBCUniversal plans to create a new publicly traded company, 'Versant,' comprising NBCUniversal's cable networks and digital assets, expected to complete in 2025.

Responsibilities :

1. Collaborate with leadership to define and execute strategic vision for the news department, maintaining market leadership.
2. Lead and develop news coverage, fostering creativity and excellence.
3. Ensure local newscasts offer high-quality, accurate, and multi-platform coverage to strengthen market position.
4. Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Production to enhance multi-platform opportunities and support branding initiatives.
5. Establish standards for on-air presentation and digital content aligned with brand guidelines.
6. Manage news personnel, including hiring, performance goals, and evaluations.
7. Develop staff for growth in a multiplatform environment.
8. Promote a culture of creativity, excellence, and high performance.
9. Optimize resource use and operations standards with local management.
10. Oversee all aspects of newsgathering, production, and presentation, ensuring quality and integrity.
11. Implement strategic and tactical newsroom operations, maintaining journalistic standards.
12. Manage daily coverage, big stories, breaking news, and sweeps planning, considering staffing and operational needs.
13. Lead and motivate the news team, planning for future events and crisis situations.
14. Ensure compliance with journalistic and ethical standards.
15. Qualifications include a degree in Journalism, Communications, or equivalent experience, with at least 3 years in a senior news role, budget management, and bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
16. Must be willing to work in McAllen, TX, with a flexible schedule, valid driver’s license, and unrestricted work authorization in the U.S.
