We are on a mission to make data and AI accessible to everyone. Powered by our open, unified Data Intelligence Platform, we bring together data, AI, and people to turn insights into actions and ideas into outcomes.
The Role
We seek a technical storyteller, systems thinker, and AI collaborator who thrives at the intersection of complex technology and human understanding. Technical writers here play a critical role in our customer success, serving as builders who see documentation as a critical product that bridges the gap between sophisticated systems and the people who use them.
As a Technical Writer, you'll apply your considerable writing, data, and technical skills to create compelling content that helps data scientists, data engineers, and data analysts use Databricks. You'll partner with Product, Engineering, and Field teams, experiment with cutting-edge AI tools to help create, maintain, and deliver technical information.
The work is fast-paced, but you maintain your attention to detail and customer advocacy. You have experience with data products and cloud services, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly. You have a passion for instructional writing and a focus on clarity. You take an information architect's approach to organizing material.

- Dive deep into intricate technical architectures, APIs, and workflows
- Transform dense engineering concepts and sophisticated technologies into clear, useable guidance
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to develop effective, customer-focused documentation

Drive strategic impact and customer success
- Shape product decisions by surfacing insights from documentation and user feedback
- Collaborate closely with customer-facing technical staff (support engineers, solutions architects, developer relations) on best practices, onboarding material, and scenario-based guidance
- Guide the development of an information architecture that organizes content around customer use cases
Pioneer AI-augmented documentation
- Use with AI tools to accelerate research, drafting, and content optimization
- Experiment with new formats: interactive guides, intelligent tutorials, adaptive documentation

- Track record of improving the customer experience through better documentation
- Demonstrated understanding of information architecture concepts and how to apply them to a constantly changing website
AI-forward thinking & builder mindset
- Experience with AI writing tools, prompt engineering, or content automation (preferred)
- Excited about finding new ways to use AI for content creation, optimization, and maintenance
- Demonstrated willingness to try new tools, bring new ideas, and experiment with new approaches and technologies
