As part of The Walt Disney Studios, Disney Music Group is the music hub for The Walt Disney Company (TWDC), encompassing all aspects of music commercialization and marketing: recorded music (Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records), Disney Music Publishing, and Disney Concerts. Disney Music Group distributes music both physically and digitally and licenses music throughout the world in various forms of media including television, print, gaming, and consumer products. The music group is responsible for releasing music content created by all divisions of TWDC, including but not limited to Walt Disney Studios, Pixar, LucasFilm, MARVEL, ABC, 20th Century Film and TV Studios, and Disney+.
The Copyright Licensing & Permission team handles the mechanical licensing for all Disney Music Group's domestic physical and digital albums, singles, mobile tones and digital videos. We also issue licenses to third party labels for the use of Disney Music Publishing compositions for these same types of commercial exploitations.
Responsibilities:
Issue mechanical licenses to third party labels for Disney controlled compositions
Add publishing shares for both internal and external publishers to bulk licensing schedules
Request licenses for non-bulk external publishers through the Harry Fox Agency
Update relevant licensing metadata in the release database
Research external publisher metadata
Update license trackers
Any other assigned tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Proficiency with Word and Excel and other Microsoft Suite products
Energetic, efficient and resourceful with excellent time-management skills
Strong attention to detail skills; accuracy is critical
Ability to meet multiple goals, shifting deadlines, and other metrics/key performance indicators (KPI's)
Must be available to work onsite minimum of 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday). Fridays are remote
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years applicable experience
Familiarity with or understanding of music administration
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience preferred
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $50,300 to $65,000 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
