Custodian - Ferndale Library Job at Whatcom County Library System in Ferndale

The Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) is accepting applications for a part-time Custodian position at the Ferndale Library.

SUMMARY: Performs a variety of cleaning tasks: dusting, vacuuming, cleaning windows and bathrooms and other similar duties.

WORKING HOURS: Twelve (12) regularly scheduled hours per week. The proposed shifts will be Tuesday 5-9am, Wednesday 5-9am and Thursday 5-9am, with some flexibility to coordinate between the successful candidate and their supervisor. Extra hours to substitute for absent custodial staff at Ferndale and in other library locations, and for special cleaning projects at Ferndale. Successful candidates may be required to adapt to future schedule and/or worksite changes depending on library needs.

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires the ability to work independently and alone in the library during closed hours.  Requires the ability to operate cleaning equipment, move furniture and boxes and clean high windows.  Work requires considerable physical effort in the handling of materials or equipment up to 80 pounds and/or continually standing or walking 60%+ of the time.  Requires high school diploma and six months relevant experience or equivalent combination.  New employees are subject to a CRC (criminal records check) per RCW 43.43.832.
