Job Title: Marketing & Events Coordinator

Position Summary: The Marketing & Events Coordinator is responsible for planning, promoting, and executing events that support the Chambers mission and enhance member engagement. This position also oversees the development of marketing materials, manages event budgets, leads key committees, and contributes to sponsorship growth and organizational visibility.

Time Commitment: Part-time (28 hours per week, with allowance for up to 30 hours per week with prior authorization) typically fulfilled during business hours of Monday-Thursday 9:00 am 4:30 pm. Flexibility is required for evening meetings and events that occur with advanced scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, public relations, event management, or a related field.
  • 13 years of experience in marketing, event planning, or related roles (Chamber or nonprofit experience a plus).

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
  • Experience using email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) and website content management systems.
  • Basic photography skills and an eye for capturing engaging event photos; experience with photo editing tools is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple events/projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteer committees and foster strong relationships with members and community partners.
  • Sales or fundraising experience preferred, particularly related to sponsorships or campaign development.

Other Requirements

  • Ability to work occasional early mornings or evenings for events and meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and Execute Chamber Events
  • Coordinate all aspects of Chamber events, including logistics, vendor relations, timelines, communication, and day-of execution.
  • Create and Distribute Marketing Materials
  • Design, write, and schedule marketing content across various platforms (email, social media, print, website) to promote Chamber initiatives, events, and member benefits.
  • Committee Leadership
  • Serve as the staff liaison and leader for the following committees:
  • Marketing & Events
  • Safety Council
  • Coordinate meetings, agendas, and follow-up to ensure committee goals are met.
  • Sponsorship Development
  • Support the Chambers revenue growth by selling sponsorship opportunities through the annual Get Noticed Campaign and on a rolling basis throughout the year.
  • Event Budgeting
  • Develop and manage budgets for all events, ensuring alignment with financial goals and appropriate use of resources.
  • Strategic Collaboration
  • Work with the Chamber President/CEO to establish and implement both short-term and long-term goals that align with the Chambers strategic plan.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
  • Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as delegated by the Chamber President/CEO.
