Position Summary

You will be responsible for drafting, designing, checking BOMs, managing changes, part specifications, drawing revisions, creating and reusing standard designs, and document control. You will gather information from multiple sources including disciplines, vendors, engineers, and catalogs to produce complete, accurate, and constructible design packages. Developing template drawings and standards to support daily activities is also part of this role.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, along with knowledge of Instrumentation Design and the National Electrical Code, are required to excel in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Electrical Engineers across locations.
  • Create and design complete construction/maintenance packages based on project scope using P&ID and other project data.
  • Ensure process safety standards are followed on all projects.
  • Ensure safe installation of vendor systems.
  • Complete projects within budget and schedule.
  • Meet operational needs of customers.
  • Travel may be required.
Drawing Packages May Include
  • Instrument locations, control room, analyzer, layout and design of loading building, one-line diagrams, cable sizing, tray layouts, schematics for power, control, and shutdown circuits, PLC panels, junction boxes, and control layouts.
  • Design of communication systems using fiber optics, Ethernet, conduits, and cable schedules.
Required Skills

This is a technical role requiring basic electrical knowledge, familiarity with the National Electric Code (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, NEMA standards, and IEC symbols.

Computer skills needed include Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Plant3D, CADworx, Autodesk Vault, and Adept.

Experience
  • Associate degree in Instrument or Electrical Design, Trade School, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with instrumentation in natural gas and liquids services.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area classifications.
  • Maintenance and construction knowledge.
  • High ethical standards, safety focus, motivation, adaptability, and continuous learning mindset.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
