Piping Designer

Technical Staffing Resources has an opening for a Piping Designer with one of the largest EPC firms in the country. This is a long-term contract position in the Marlborough, MA area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Perform necessary fieldwork, including pulling measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, etc., and developing detailed scopes.
2. Work from P&ID's, client specifications, and vendor data to design complex piping systems for chemical facilities.
3. Create isometrics and pipe supports.
4. Ensure that the completed design is functional, maintainable, and designed with safety in mind, following all applicable codes.
5. Interface with other disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Knowledgeable in the design and layout of process piping and equipment in chemical facilities or refineries.
2. AutoCAD experience required; 3D or PLANT experience is a plus. MS Office and SharePoint skills are also desirable.
3. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
4. Field experience is required.
