The Strategic Communications Manager is responsible for developing the Company's Sustainability Communications and is the primary business partner for various McCormick Sr. Executives who lead Global Functions. The role includes the writing and creation of the company's Purpose-Led Performance report, as well as publishing critical information about McCormick Partnerships with NGOs, Investments, Awards, and updates on Sustainability Progress and Commitments. The position will also work directly with various Sr. Executive leaders in managing their executive voice and delivering their internal and external communications.
The Strategic Communications Manager will be responsible for delivering high quality strategic business writing services to critical stakeholders. Exceptional project management capabilities, superior business writing capabilities, and strategic leadership skills will be keys to success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing and preparing Sustainability Communications, leading the delivery and creation of McCormick's Purpose Led Performance Report, and publishing critical information about Partnerships, Investments, Awards and Progress across our internal and external channels.
- Key strategic business partner, speechwriter, and voice for select Sr. level Executives across internal and external platforms.
- Partner with Employee Communications team to incorporate news into employee communications and platforms.
Required qualifications include:
- BA Communications, Marketing
- Masters Degree preferred
- 7+ years broad experience in professional writing Marketing/Communications.
- Requires excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to influence. Ability to work effectively across functions and multiple levels within the organization.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods industry including competitors. Food Industry preferred.
- Experience dealing with the Media and external stakeholders. Must be able to lead and influence without direct authority.
- Must be an exceptional strategic thought leader, communicator and influencer.
- Must be able to work across functions, in a highly matrix environment.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Customer oriented-Ensures deadlines are met for key stakeholders Self Directed-Take initiative to work through challenges and makes recommendations
- Performs well under pressure for big events, complex issues
Base Salary: $103,520 - 181,150.
Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick's Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
