Direct Reports: Marketing & Communications Associate, Development Associate, Social Media & Marketing Associate, Marketing & Community Associate

Job Purpose: Lead all activities of development and marketing department, and work to increase annual revenue, cultivate donors, and increase awareness of the organization among key audiences including donors, students, volunteers, puppy raisers, corporate partners, media and the community at large.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead development and marketing planning that include major gifts programs, annual fund strategies, planned giving, and fundraising events and campaigns 10%
  • Research and identify current and potential donors to enhance annual giving 10%
  • Manage and develop relationships with current donors 10%
  • Manage day-to-day marketing services in support of GDA|TLCs marketing goals 5%
  • Delegate and oversee the development of branding and marketing materials, GDA|TLC website and communications with copywriting, photography and video production 5%
  • Collaborate with other GDA|TLC departments, represent and coordinate GDA|TLC community outreach, including staffing of events and conducting presentations 10%
  • Participate in speaking engagements, donor visits and varied event presentations 10%
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement when interacting with attorneys and others relating to settling GDA|TLCs interest in bequeathed estate assets 5%
  • Monitor and report to the Board of Directors on outstanding estates 5%
  • Manage the liquidation of securities and other assets 5%
  • Oversee and direct GDA|TLCs publicity efforts, serve as media contact and collaborate in the development of media-related materials 5%
  • Provide event management in collaboration with other GDA|TLC departments (e.g. Las Vegas, Graduations, Open House, Fundraising Events) 10%
  • Able to work within a prison environment; pass a prison background check; adhere to prison policies/procedures 10%
  • Travel, weekends, and night work may be required
  • Attend GDA events and GDA sponsored events both onsite and offsite
  • Other duties as assigned or require
Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift minimum of 30 lbs.
  • Working indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
  • Shared office space
  • Office environment with multiple dogs
  • Visual acuity required to read forms, documentation, and computer screen
  • Hearing ability required to interact with dogs, staff, donors, volunteers, clients, potential constituents
  • Ability to tolerate elevated noise levels barking dogs
  • Interactions with all types of people/personalities
Qualifications:
  • 18+ years of age
  • Driving on behalf of the organization will be requiredValid drivers license and insurability required
  • High School graduate or GED
  • 2 years management experience
  • 5 years marketing / development / fund-raising experience
  • Exceptional understanding of Graphic Design
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Goal oriented and able to achieve
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Ability to organize and meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word), SharePoint and experience with CRM database management programs such as Salesforce preferred
  • Work well as part of a team and in a team environment.
