The Media Audience Strategy Specialist will be responsible for leading all 1P, 2P, and 3P strategy, reporting, and onboarding globally for the paid media marketing team across channels such as social, display, and online video for Abercrombie & Fitch, abercrombie kids, and Hollister. This role involves working closely with Data and Analytics, Mar-tech, and Paid Media Strategy teams to implement a customer retention-focused, audience-first approach to paid media. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, curious, collaborative, and highly organized.
This position is based at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Champion audience-first thinking within strategy and media teams by providing a consultative approach to drive business outcomes aligned with the annual media strategy.
- Lead paid media audience retention targeting based on campaign-specific insights, conducting audience analysis, and collaborating cross-functionally to develop test-and-learn opportunities at the segment level.
- Brief in new audience opportunities seasonally to the mar-tech team and media activation teams, based on strategic priorities, while managing 1P audience requests.
- Identify new data opportunities (3P) to enhance activation efforts by leveraging understanding of data and the digital media ecosystem, working with media agency partners.
- Analyze audience segment performance and provide optimization recommendations, collaborating with Data and Analytics teams on performance tracking.
- Manage audience overlap, governance, and prioritization to advise media activation teams effectively.
- Collaborate with channel activation teams to identify the best data sources across 1P, 2P, and 3P for translating audience strategies into media activations.
- Develop a deep understanding of 1P data collection and attributes for media activation; stay informed on evolving tracking methods (cookie deprecation) and privacy regulations across platforms like Google, Meta, TikTok, etc.
- Support onboarding and activation of audiences (e.g., Tealium) and facilitate processes between internal mar-tech teams and external partners.
What Do You Need To Bring?
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in audience development, data-driven marketing, or digital marketing (experience in paid media is a plus).
- Solid understanding of mar-tech and ad-tech landscape; experience with data onboarding and data clean rooms.
- Digital marketing experience in a fast-paced, multi-channel retail environment is advantageous.
- Working knowledge of all media activation channels (programmatic, social, search, OOH, etc.) and full-funnel addressable activation best practices.
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent project management and inter-departmental coordination skills.
- Motivated and adaptable to thrive in a dynamic, demanding environment.
