Responsibilities:

• Provide regular content for the "Red Alert" blog (300-500 words), assigned by the Communications team monthly.
• Write human interest stories highlighting volunteers, leaders, donors, disaster victims, etc. (500-1,000 words), including interviews.
• Identify visuals to support blog and feature stories.
• Independently find unplanned content related to the Red Cross to share on the blog.
• Interview affected families, obtain story and signed release forms.
• Submit stories to the public affairs desk.
• Take photos or videos at events if needed, using your smartphone.
• Assist with social media content during events or disasters.
• Be available to volunteer at odd hours during disasters.
