Position Overview:
The Center for Intellectual Freedom (CIF) at the University of Iowa is seeking a "Senior Creative Media Manager" to support the development of the center's digital presence and public messaging.



Key Responsibilities:



Website Development & Content Management



  • Collaborate with central IT or contracted developers to build and maintain the CIF website.



  • Draft and organize web pages (e.g., About, Mission, Programs & Events, FAQs, Contact).



  • Coordinate with design and IT teams to ensure content aligns with University of Iowa branding and accessibility standards.



  • Assist in ongoing updates and maintenance of the website.



  • Support testimonial development by identifying and interviewing faculty and students.


Messaging & Narrative Framing



  • Assist in crafting the center's mission statement and brand identity.



  • Develop FAQs that address common questions and community concerns.



  • Create consistent copy for digital platforms including newsletters, press releases, and social media.


Event Content Support



  • Collaborate with the Interim Director to write promotional materials for public lectures, panels, and debates.



  • Draft event descriptions and prepare post-event summaries for web publication.


Student Media Engagement



  • Develop talking points and interview questions for student media features.



  • Ensure tone and messaging are aligned with leadership goals while remaining engaging and accessible to students and the public.



Qualifications:



  • Master's degree or equivalent combination of education and years of experience



  • Minimum 3 years of experience with website development & content management.



  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to tone and audience.



  • Experience with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).



  • Familiarity with accessibility standards and university branding guidelines.



  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.



  • Interest in interdisciplinary academic work and public engagement.



Position Details:



  • Temporary Part-Time: 10 - 15 hours per week



  • Pay level: 5A



  • Position anticipated to start August 2025 and continue through May 2026
