Position Overview:
The On-Site Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair and installation assistance of all components related to intrusion alarms, access control and surveillance camera systems. Also assists in application administration of these systems. Responsible for routine and preventative maintenance tasks for all devices.
Job Responsibilities:
Works on site and remote in response to service tickets and phone calls.
Responsible for diagnosing and troubleshooting multiple versions of intrusion, access control and surveillance camera systems.
Provide rotating on call support for after-hours and weekend issues.
Works closely with other on site and application admin team members.
Provides expert advice and recommendations for hardware system components.
Will work closely with Network, Sys Admin and Facilities Maintenance teams.

Education:
High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a service technician role.
Experience with access control, intrusion and surveillance camera systems, both analog and digital.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Flexible and willing to adapt to changes and have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, other department/agencies and the public
Ability to lift at least 20 lbs. and/or move boxes and equipment as needed.
Ability to kneel, crouch, handle, climb, walk, sit, twist and reach is needed to perform the essential functions.
Licensure:
Valid driver’s license.
Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check that includes being fingerprinted. This applies to any position with network access to Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) or access to an area where CJIS is received, maintained or stored either manually or electronically (i.e. custodian, maintenance).
Automatic Disqualification:
- Convictions, probation, or deferred adjudication for any Felony, and any Class A Misdemeanor
- Convictions, probation, or deferred adjudication for a Class B Misdemeanor, if within the previous 10 years
- Open arrest for any criminal offense (Felony or Misdemeanor)
- Family Violence conviction

Work Schedule:
8 hours/day
May be required to work more than forty hours during the workweek or on weekends when special projects or deadlines need to be met.
Work Arrangement:
Onsite 5 days/week
Work Environment:
The primary work area will be varied.
Exterior devices require outside work in the Houston area climate.
Office and interior work will include reasonable climate control.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs. and/or move boxes and equipment as needed.
Subject to kneeling, crouching, handling, climbing, walking, sitting, twisting and reaching are needed to perform the essential functions.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
