Job Summary

Responsible for the design, development, configuration, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the organization’s websites, web infrastructure, and both mobile and web applications. Ensures high availability, compatibility, security, and optimal performance of all web-based platforms. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assist in content gathering, creation and updating, and deliver user-friendly, compliant, and scalable digital solutions that align with organizational goals.

Job Summary

Responsible for the design, development, configuration, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the organization’s websites, web infrastructure, and both mobile and web applications. Ensures high availability, compatibility, security, and optimal performance of all web-based platforms. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assist in content gathering, creation and updating, and deliver user-friendly, compliant, and scalable digital solutions that align with organizational goals.

Essential Job Functions

Performs advanced work in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s websites, as well as web and mobile applications. Leads complex web projects to ensure alignment with business objectives, user needs, and technical standards. Collaborate with internal teams to gather requirements, plan features, assist in content gathering and creation, and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing digital solutions. Routinely develops enhancements and resolves bugs across web platforms, thoroughly testing all code revisions prior to implementation to ensure stability, performance, and user satisfaction. Develops and supports websites and applications using a range of programming languages, including but not limited to HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React for front-end development, and Node.js, Python, PHP, Java, .NET, and C# for back-end development. Administers and integrates systems using SQL, NoSQL, and MySQL databases. Manages hosting environments across Azure, AWS, Pantheon, and Apache, and maintains platforms such as WordPress, Git, and various web development tools. Configures and maintains CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and updates. Ensures all websites and applications are optimized for high availability, performance, and security. Maintains up-to-date WordPress core and plugin versions and ensures compliance with SEO best practices and ADA accessibility standards. Designs and documents user interfaces using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch, and ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, including support for Android and iOS devices. Administers both Windows and Linux operating systems in support of web and mobile application environments. May serve as a technical lead in various projects. Works under general supervision. Work is occasionally directed in several aspects and is moderately independent referring to policies, practices, processes, and procedures. Exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant matters. Refers more complex matters to the supervisor. Works collaboratively with others. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or closely related field plus minimum of three years of relevant experience or master’s degree plus one year of relevant experience. Strong understanding of the full development stack and maintenance environment including database interaction, web programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, PHP, Java, .NET, and C#.. Advanced knowledge and understanding of website and application design, including user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) principles. Advanced knowledge and understanding of Internet web servers and supporting technologies such as AWS, Azure, WordPress, IIS, Apache, Application virtualization. Experience in content creation and content gathering. Possess the ability to communicate across teams and with technical and non-technical professionals. Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and responsibility. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.

Physical Requirements

Job performance may require listening, seeing, sitting, talking; occasional reaching, grasping, lifting, handling, pulling or pushing, balancing and carrying of items such as boxes of materials, books, etc. with weights not exceeding 25 pounds; limited walking, standing, stooping, and bending; some irregular hours and long workdays and moderate levels of stress. Job is performed primarily in an office environment with infrequent trips to other offices and limited exposure to weather conditions.
