Job Description Summary
The Web Content & Social Media Manager's primary purpose is to create, maintain, and optimize content for the SSU website and social media accounts, ensuring they remain dynamic, advance SSU's brand and recruitment goals, meets user needs, and adhere to SEO best practices. The position blends the creative and technical in expanding SSU's web and social media presence and digital applications. The Web Content & Social Media Manager will develop content strategy, plan, write, edit, and manage content for web and social; maintain consistency in brand voice and messaging across all content; and manage updates throughout the site and platforms daily, working within SSU's Content Management System and social media platforms. The position will work closely with the Director of Communications, Communications Content Manager, academic and enrollment leaders, and members of the communications team to maximize the website as SSU's top marketing tool, reporting and analyzing web data. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
FUNCTIONS: Content Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement content strategies aligned with brand, enrollment, and communications goals and the University Strategic Plan. Content Creation & Editing: Write, edit, and proofread web and social media content, including website copy, blog posts, articles, and social media updates. Content Management & Organization: Manage and update website and social media content using content management systems (CMS) and social media channels. Collaboration & Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure content aligns with their needs and expectations while adhering to brand goals and guidelines. Quality Assurance: Ensure all web and social media content is accurate, up-to-date, aligned with brand and marketing goals, and is optimized for search engines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Content Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement content strategies aligned with brand, enrollment, and communications goals and the University Strategic Plan.
Work with Director of Communications and key stakeholders to develop and implement content strategies to achieve established goals and objectives. Create and manage editorial calendars to ensure timely content delivery, working with the Communications Content Manager to maximize content and messaging across all communications channels. Collaborate with communications, marketing, and enrollment teams to ensure content aligns with brand guidelines.
Content Creation & Editing: Write, edit, and proofread web and social media content, including website copy, blog posts, articles, and social media updates.

Monitor website and social media traffic, user engagement, and other relevant metrics to assess content performance. Implement content updates and improvements based on data analysis and user feedback.

Provide training and support to web contributors, managing license agreements, managing workflow, and approval process - develop a strategy to determine campus stakeholders with contributor licenses on content management best practices.

Ensure all content is accurate, up-to-date, and error-free. Conduct regular content audits and alert departments to review content regularly. Report web analytics and web data to stakeholders, developing continuous improvement plans.

Minimum Qualifications
