Senior Contracts Negotiator, AWS Sales & Marketing

Join us at Amazon Web Services (AWS) for the opportunity to become a Senior Contracts Negotiator, part of our dynamic AWS Worldwide Public Sector Legal team. As an experienced professional, you will independently lead negotiations for intricate cloud services agreements, particularly with public sector customers. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire negotiation process, from crafting internal strategies to finalizing deals while working closely with various stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Lead high-stakes negotiations with public sector clients and AWS partners or solution providers. Draft and evaluate custom contract terms. Assist in responding to solicitations from public entities, including Requests for Proposals and Requests for Information. Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to address customer concerns and mitigate risks to AWS. Develop and execute effective negotiation strategies. Represent AWS Legal in customer negotiation discussions. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while providing oversight and guidance. Enhance and maintain standard operating procedures and negotiation resources. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. 5+ years of experience in commercial or public sector contract negotiations. 5+ years of experience in evaluating and drafting custom contract terms. Proven ability to lead customer-facing negotiations. Preferred Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree. Experience with government contracts and procurement regulations. Familiarity with cloud computing services, outsourcing, and telecommunications. Experience advising teams on negotiation strategies, contract implications, and legal/commercial risks. Strong understanding of legal concepts such as indemnity, limitation of liability, privacy and security, and order of precedence. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Capability to work with a high degree of independence, initiative, and creativity. Strong judgment, particularly in ambiguous situations.
