Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Design Engineer
to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end design, optimization, and implementation of complex LMR and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). This role requires a strong background in RF engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of wireless communication principles.
Key Responsibilities Design and model LMR and DAS networks using industry-standard tools, with a strong preference for
iBwave . Conduct RF propagation analysis, link budget calculations, and interference analysis. Develop comprehensive network designs, including antenna placement, equipment selection, and cabling diagrams. Perform site surveys to validate designs and troubleshoot existing systems. Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and clients to ensure project requirements are met and designs are implemented accurately. Create detailed documentation, including design reports, bills of materials (BOM), and as-built drawings. Stay current with the latest LMR technologies, standards, and best practices. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in LMR or DAS design and engineering. Proven expertise in RF design and propagation. Strong knowledge of LMR technologies (e.g., P25, TETRA,
MOTOTRBO ) and DAS components. Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers,
service monitors , and power meters. Preferred Experience
Hands-on experience with iBwave is highly preferred. Experience designing and working with Motorola Solutions'
MOTOTRBO
systems. Experience with other RF modeling tool. Experience with DAS commissioning and optimization. Familiarity and general knowledge of FCC licensing requirements. P25 or other relevant industry certifications.
