Xpedition ECAD Layout Designer
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Xpedition ECAD Layout Designer with in-depth knowledge of PCB design, Xpedition VX2.13 or higher, and multi-layer PCB development. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, optimize, and implement high-performance printed circuit boards for cutting-edge electronic systems. This is a 3 month contract to hire and requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Responsibilities:
PCB Layout Design:
Create complex, multi-layer PCB layouts using Xpedition VX2.13 or higher. Develop schematics, footprints, and component placement strategies for optimal performance. Ensure high-speed, RF, and mixed-signal design best practices are implemented. Design Optimization:
Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal management simulations to validate designs. Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM), testability (DFT), and reliability. Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with electrical engineers, mechanical designers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of PCB designs into products. Provide feedback on electrical schematics to optimize layout designs. Documentation and Standards:
Generate and maintain detailed design documentation, including fabrication and assembly drawings, BOMs, and test specifications. Ensure all designs comply with IPC standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Tool Expertise and Process Improvement:
Stay updated on the latest Mentor Graphics Xpedition tools and features. Propose and implement process improvements to enhance design efficiency and quality. $50 - $65 an hour
