Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of customer/shopper marketing or related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (required)
  • Experience in CPG, Food & Beverage (natural & conventional grocers, mass-market retailers)

Job Responsibilities:

The Shopper Marketing Manager will lead the creation and implementation of shopper-centric strategies and initiatives aimed at enhancing brand visibility and growth, encouraging product trial, and boosting sales, all while aligning with the objectives of our retail partners. The Shopper Marketing Manager will manage program budgets and tactics, conduct post-program evaluations, and stay abreast of competitive market programs and trends. Collaboration will be key, as you work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing (including Social, Digital, and Creative teams), Innovation, and Finance departments to drive company goals forward.

This role will involve close collaboration with sales teams across all channels and the marketing team to devise top-notch shopper marketing strategies that align with brand objectives and revenue targets across in-store and omnichannel platforms. Regular monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) will help gauge the effectiveness of marketing programs, and you'll play a crucial role in developing and testing in-store shopper marketing programs while engaging directly with retail partners to craft promotional initiatives.

The Shopper Marketing Manager role will manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality results. Acting as the primary point of contact, with support from the Sr. Director of Shopper Marketing and Market Development, this role will lead the development of retailer presentations and interactions related to marketing and promotions, aiming to secure retailer buy-in and optimal program execution in-store. Cultivating relationships with retail and CPG marketing agencies, you'll assess and recommend platforms to maximize return on investment by retailer, channel, and geography.

Additionally, this role will contribute to product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategies to maximize long-term market share, leveraging retailer loyalty card/rewards programs and CPG app-based platforms. This person will also stay updated on emerging trends in trade marketing solutions, proactively guiding the marketing team toward innovative approaches that drive results in the retail space. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Adept at leading cross-functional teams through effective communication and influence, with the resilience and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic founder-led culture.
  • Proficient in leveraging syndicated data sources such as SPINs, Nielsen, coupled with expertise in category management. Committed to extracting actionable insights and identifying strategic avenues for channel growth.
  • Demonstrates sound business judgment and decision-making abilities, with a knack for identifying, prioritizing, and articulating initiatives that yield the highest impact.
  • Possesses a customer-oriented mindset, with hands-on experience in omnichannel marketing. Demonstrates a track record of effectively driving sales both in physical retail environments and online.
  • Proactively seeks out new digital and in-store shopper tools, and is eager to take on additional responsibilities beyond primary job duties when necessary.
  • Experience optimizing a brand's digital presence
  • Experience in retail media
  • Experience in growing strategic partnerships (Joint Business Planning) with Retailers/Partners
  • Exhibits strong organizational skills, with proficiency in project management and budget oversight. Capable of advancing multiple projects concurrently with a sense of urgency and ownership.
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills, enabling effective interaction with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
  • Operates with high levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation, driving initiatives forward with creativity and a sense of purpose.
  • Leverages syndicated data sources and expertise in category management to inform strategic decisions, consistently seeking out opportunities for channel growth and optimization.

Job Details:

  • Work Hours: Business Hours
  • Able to travel up to 20% to support trade events, customer calls, etc.
  • Must have proven track record in leading/growing shopper marketing sales
  • Available to work flexible schedules, including some evenings & nights
  • Pay Range: $115,000.00 - 123,600.00 Salary + Bonus Eligible
