Salary:$80K to $85K based on experience

Position Summary: Reporting to the VP, Marketing and Communications, the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications is responsible for strategic planning and execution of internal and external communications activities to promote JUMP Math, drive business growth, build brand awareness, engagement and market position in line with the Marketing and Communications departments organizational strategic plans and goals. This role manages the planning and implementation of earned, owned and shared media and drives storytelling content strategy and creation, developing and implementing marketing and communications plans across all channels. This includes writing and overseeing the writing of on-brand corporate and product messaging; developing media and influencer relationships through strategic, proactive earned and paid media outreach; conducting market research to identify opportunities and understand our target audiences needs; promoting our charitable programs and resources through digital customer/stakeholder marketing (web, email and paid digital); and growing social media engagement through strategic channel planning and oversight.

The Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications also supports the VP, Marketing and Communications with planning JUMP Maths print and digital product and donor marketing strategies and driving communications and media outreach strategies that increase JUMP Maths reputation as a sector leader in Canadian and US markets and its founders profile as a thought leader in math education around the world. This role also works with staff across the organization to steward the brand and manage the successful implementation of their marketing and communications projects.

Key Accountabilities:

  • With the oversight of the VP, Marketing and Communications, develops and implements content strategies in support of the teams overall marketing goals, as well as to meet product sales and donation goals to reach key target audiences in Canadian and U.S. markets
  • Creates high-impact strategies to advance JUMP Math founders profile as a thought leader
  • Enhances brand equity and reputation through strategic, compelling digital and social media content strategy development using best practices while maintaining organizational brand key messaging and tone
  • Collaborates with internal teams, external stakeholders, and subject matter experts to develop a variety of high-quality storytelling and other content across various formats, (including blog posts, articles, white papers, op-eds, guest blogs, video scripts, studies, videos, infographics, speaking engagements, webinars, podcasts, presentations, etc.) to drive thought leadership and build awareness and reputation of JUMP Maths charitable programs, products and increase public knowledge about math education
  • Ensures all content is optimized for search engines (SEO, SEM), using relevant keywords and best practices to improve visibility and organic reach.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with mainstream and education trade media, education influencers, and other education sector stakeholders through research
  • Generates proactive media coverage for founder and JUMP Math and joint marketing opportunities in support of organizational objectives, managing media requests, media briefings and training
  • Works closely with the VP, Marketing and Communications to ensure alignment with the organizations overarching strategy and goals
  • Woks closely with the Manager, Marketing and Communications to align on implementation of marketing & communications plans and calendars
  • Monitors and analyzes marketing and communication performance metrics and KPIs to using data to assess, inform content strategies and optimization efforts.
  • Manages and monitors the success of paid content campaigns with external agencies
  • Generates increased awareness, recognition and demand for JUMP Math products and services through the development of marketing tools, including web pages, press releases, brochures, etc.
  • Supports other teams with marketing and communications services, including developing sales-enabling tools, creating product and ad messaging for lead and product demand generation, workshop/event promotion, etc.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support marketing communications programs, such as campaigns, speaking opportunities, tradeshows/conferences, etc.
  • Stays current on the latest communication and marketing trends and education news, incorporating relevant insights into strategic ideation and campaign creation

Demonstrated excellence in advanced written and oral communication, with outstanding storytelling, writing, editing and proofreading skills
Excellent project management skills
Strong conceptual idea generation ability
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Strong proficiency with suite of MS Office 365 programs
Demonstrated ability to develop and manage strategic communications and marketing campaigns
Exceptional relationship-building and interpersonal skills
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to change and growth
Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset but not required

Education and Experience (minimums):

Minimum of six (6) years of success in a management level marketing and communications role
Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, journalism, communications or related discipline; or a combination or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Previous experience and track record of success with generating national and international earned media coverage
Demonstrated experience in developing strategic content across communications channels to drive brand awareness
Proven track record of developing and implementing successful content programs that drive engagement, brand awareness, and lead generation in the B2B education sector
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering media relations and influencer programs.
Experience in executing digital advertising campaigns and strong knowledge of media buying practices
Strong knowledge and experience with marketing and communications software tools, such as WordPress CMS, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Meltwater, MailChimp
Strong fluency in writing content to optimize SEO, SEM and knowledge of best practices
Demonstrated experience in data analysis and/or the creation of data-driven reports
Familiarity or experience working with Adobe InDesign suite of programs an asset
Charitable non-profit education sector experience is an asset
