The Director, Client Development will lead the Client Development team for Walgreens AdvertisingGroup. This strategic role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, fostering strategic partnerships, and delivering exceptional service to some of the largest suppliers and Joint Business Partners of Walgreens and largest clients of Walgreens Advertising Group. The Director, Client Development will partner closely with internal teams at Walgreens to monetize advertising opportunities in enterprise initiatives and ensure alignment between Walgreens and Walgreens Advertising Group goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the client development team, providing strategic direction, mentorship, andguidance to drive individual and team success.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive client development strategy for large, strategic suppliersof Walgreens and clients of Walgreens Advertising Growth, with a focus on driving revenue growth, enhancing client relationships, and maximizing client satisfaction.
  • Lead the end-to-end upfront commitment process from negotiation to contract closure, ensuring aseamless and positive experience for large, strategic clients on the Client Development team.
  • Deliver against the Client Development specific revenue goal including upfront commitments,commitment spend-through and upselling/growth above committed dollars.
  • Facilitate detailed account planning and forecasting and represent revenue pacing to goal ininternal financial forums and to leadership.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within large clientorganizations, including C-suite executives, Walgreens and drug channel sales leads, senior marketingleaders, media and brand leadership and leaders of retail media centers of excellence.
  • Partner with the Walgreens enterprise team such as marketing and merchandising to integrateadvertising solutions into enterprise initiatives and / or build new monetizable capabilities thatmeet the needs of clients within the Client Development team and Walgreens Advertising Groupas a whole.
  • Act as a main point of contact between Walgreens Advertising Group and Walgreens Enterpriseand ensure alignment between retail goals and media company offerings.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform clientstrategies and enhance our value proposition for large clients.
  • Represent Walgreens Advertising Group at client meetings, industry events, and conferences toincrease brand visibility, strengthen client relationships, and explore new business opportunities.

External Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field andat least 10 years of experience in client development, account management, or related leadershiproles within the retail media, media or advertising industry
  • Leadership experience with a track record of effectively managing and motivating teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust withclients and/or stakeholders at senior levels of an organization
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, capable of identifyingopportunities for growth and driving initiatives forward
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiplepriorities simultaneously
  • At least 6 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership
  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced degree
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing clients and relationships
  • Experience with the retail industry and advertising ecosystem, including knowledge of mediabuying processes, consumer behavior trends, and retail media landscape
  • Results-driven with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a competitive and fast-paced environment
  • Retail Media experience (e.g. Kroger Precision Marketing, Roundel, Walmart Connect, etc.)
  • Experience with management of team members, including assisting in the development, trainingand assignment of work/projects to other members of a team
  • Experience working with annual brand budgets and P&L concepts revenue, cogs, gross profitmargin, operating expenses, and income
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce)
