The Women's Basketball Video Director is a multifaceted role that supports the women’s basketball program through video operations, player development, and creative media content. This position is responsible for managing all video-related functions, including practice and game film breakdown, scouting video, and analytics. The coach also plays a hands-on role in individual skill development, assisting with on-court training sessions, workouts, and performance evaluation. In addition, the role serves as the team’s Creative Content Specialist—overseeing the creation of high-quality visual content to enhance the program’s brand. This includes designing graphics, coordinating photo and video shoots, and producing engaging recruiting presentations across digital platforms. The ideal candidate will be innovative, tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and passionate about both basketball and digital storytelling.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Utilize SportsCode and SYNERGY software to break down games for analysis.
- Provide scouting information and analytics to assist head coach and assistant coaches
- Breakdown personnel for scouting reports
- Self-scout University of Miami Women’s Basketball team videos for offensive and defensive sets, special strategies and individual players’ tendencies
- Film, code and distribute practice and game tapes to coaching staff
- Maintain current video and computer hardware, advise department on existing equipment and possible future upgrades
- Transport and set up video equipment for meeting, practices and games - home and away
- Liaison for Miami Women’s Basketball for ACC and NCAA needs
Team Workouts/Practice – serve as one of the designated coaches during practice and workout activities.
- Assist coaches with organization, set up and breakdown of all individual workouts
- Ensure practice set-up is correct with managers and equipment needs
- Organize and set up for all practice
- Manage individual and other workouts including all set up and recording needs
- Generate specific need-based workouts
- Transcribe plays for practice notes and coaches
- Participate in practices to demonstrate drills and assist with all on court needs
Practice Squad
- Recruit members for a practice squad
- Supervise all activities related to practice squad including coaching, understanding of practice needs and all NCAA Compliance requirements
Camp Coordinator
- Schedule with University departments
- Oversee camp budget with approval from Coach Cullop
- Advertisement
- Background screening of employees
- Coordinate daily camp activities
Completes special assignments which require collecting, organizing and analyzing data and producing reports which may be the basis of significant decisions for Head Women’s Basketball Coach.
Travel to all away contests and attend all practice activities Assist with on-campus recruiting Responsible for maintaining compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Coast Conference, institutional and departmental policies and procedures. Assist with local coaching clinics and camps
Demonstrate taste and understanding of graphics and recruiting trends.
Stay current with trends in recruiting, plan and execute graphics for social media and recruiting visits
Execute consistent designs aligned with University of Miami ideals
Proactively and effectively communicate with the coaching and media communications staff; share work early and often and seek out constructive feedback Collaborate with other staff members to develop design concepts Other duties as assigned by Head Women’s Basketball Coach

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Focusing on Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Ability to apply and perform graphic design, including drawing/sketching, typography, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing, and scale visual presentation development and layout.
- Ability to take creative direction and work independently with extreme attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable; able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Effective presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate ideas
- Working knowledge of the digital landscape in media, design and technology
- Understanding of contemporary design, internet, and youth culture trends
- A knowledge and love of sports and sports culture a plus

- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
