This on-mountain role requires expert skiing or snowboarding ability and significant experience capturing action and lifestyle content in snowy environments. The ideal candidate is not only confident navigating variable terrain with gear in hand, but also a highly capable editor and creative thinker who can adapt to a variety of shooting styles and storytelling formats.

• Capture compelling on-snow photo and video content that reflects the Bear Valley brand, terrain, and values—while skiing or riding safely and responsibly.
• Edit high volumes of content efficiently and to a high standard, often under tight deadlines.
• Adjust shooting styles based on the type of content—ranging from high-energy action to scenic lifestyle or social storytelling.
• Be open to creative feedback and capable of revising deliverables accordingly.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong time management and organization.
• Collaborate closely with the marketing team and other departments to ensure content aligns with resort messaging.
• Interact with guests in a friendly and knowledgeable manner, upholding Bear Valley’s customer service standards.
• Maintain professional work habits, clean workspaces, and follow Bear Valley’s employee policies.

• Expert-level skier or snowboarder, capable of navigating all terrain with gear in-hand.
• 3–5 years of photography/videography experience, preferably in the ski or outdoor industry.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects) or equivalent tools.
• Demonstrated ability to edit efficiently and creatively across different formats (social media, ads, longform, etc.).
• Skilled in operating and maintaining professional photo/video equipment including mirrorless/DSLR cameras, drones, stabilizers, and editing systems.
• Flexible, team-oriented mindset and willingness to contribute wherever needed.

This role requires flexibility in both hours and workload. Workdays may include early mornings, late afternoons, weekends, and holidays depending on snow conditions, events, or content needs. Some days may involve split shifts(e.g., morning shoot/editing break/evening event capture). Candidates must be adaptable and comfortable working outside a traditional 9–5 structure.

Weather, snow conditions and the number of guests play a large role in the work scheduling of Bear Valley employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 up to 48 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods – especially the holiday periods in December and the months of January and February – you may be expected to work six (6) days a week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Keep in mind that you will often be required to drive on hilly, snowpacked, and icy road.

At any time during the ski season, Bear Valley employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures.

A professional appearance at Bear Valley is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions.

You will be required to provide some items as part of your job.

The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Bear Valley logo while on shift.

The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
