Software Developer AV Systems

TEKsystems is seeking a skilled and innovative Software Developer with a strong background in the audiovisual (AV) industry. This role is ideal for candidates who have hands-on experience developing software for AV control systems and are passionate about creating scalable, high-performance solutions that enhance AV integration and functionality. Important Note: This position requires prior experience in the AV industry. Candidates must be familiar with AV control platforms, hardware/software integration, and the unique demands of AV environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and productivity tools
• Collaborate with clients, managers, and engineers to define project scope and requirements
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code across front-end and back-end systems
• Troubleshoot and optimize software for performance and compatibility
• Lead system testing and validation efforts
• Develop software for AV control platforms (Crestron, Extron, QSC, etc.)
• Create technical documentation and provide training/support to internal teams
• Analyze system requirements and recommend upgrades or new installations
• Provide ongoing technical support and maintenance
• Research and prototype new applications and development tools
• Partner with AV Programmers to streamline workflows and enhance system capabilities

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Developer or Software Engineer
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the AV industry
• Proficiency in C#, Python, JavaScript, or Lua (bonus: .NET, C++)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and full software development lifecycle
• Strong understanding of front-end frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, Svelte)
• Knowledge of data structures, design patterns, and multithreading
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
• Skilled in back-end frameworks (Flask, Django, Express)
• Understanding of RESTful and WebSocket APIs
• Comfortable integrating hardware/software APIs
• Experience managing Linux-based systems
• Proficient with Git or Bitbucket version control

Preferred Experience:

• Hands-on experience with AV control systems (Crestron, Extron, QSC)
• Avixa CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Self-motivated and quick to learn new technologies
• Ability to manage time independently and meet deadlines

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
