Job Summary

Advance a positive image and increase visibility of Early Years internal and external relations, its programs and child care issues through digital and print initiatives, communications activities and media relations. This role collaborates closely with the Director of Development and Communications and DevComm Coordinator.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Treats information on Early Years clients, employees, Board members or donors in a confidential manner.
  • Develop and implement an integrated digital media and communications strategy for the organization as a whole and in individual divisions and programs.
  • Design and produce high-quality materials for web, print, social media, reports, fundraising and events, in alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive PR strategy that aligns with the overall objectives of the organization, ensuring every campaign contributes positively to our brand image.
  • Create media materials (press releases, image sheets, fact sheets, story ideas, etc.) and secure media coverage to enhance the organizations visibility.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective working relationships with members of the broadcast and print media statewide; work with DevComm Coordinator to build awareness of and generate media relations opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the DevComm team and program staff to develop branded templates, infographics, reports and presentations that highlight impact and storytelling.
  • Manage and update visual web and digital assets, including homepage banners, landing pages and new graphics.
  • Work with DevComm Coordinator to build awareness of and generate media relations opportunities for positive coverage of Early Years.
  • Create and maintain an organization wide communications calendar.
  • Ensures overall quality and cost efficiency of all marketing and communications activities and materials and ensures consistent brand identity and voice in external communications channels.
  • Design and write and/or edit copy for all organization publications including; annual reports, flyers, brochures, special publications, materials, press releases, speeches, etc.
  • Craft compelling content for online marketing (blogs, newsletters, social media, press releases) relevant to programs, advocacy and child care & education.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop promotional strategies for marketing materials, website and digital communications; track and report on the performance of digital communications initiatives with the ability to make recommendations on improving results.
  • Measure and report digital metrics (GA4 and social metrics) to assess performance, adapt content strategy to drive content strategy improvements.
  • Conduct SEO planning, keyword research, and content strategy to enhance online visibility and increase organic website traffic.
  • Oversee the organizations digital presence, including social media, website content, newsletters and Google Ad grants.
  • Drives the development of social campaigns that generate demand and engagement, improve conversion, and drive retention rates; track and share results for continuous improvement.
  • Creates visually appealing graphics and images for digital and print media, aligning with branding guidelines.
  • Work with outside vendors, including graphic designers, printing companies and consultants.
  • Help on-site during special events.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Development and Communications.
Special Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of digital media strategies and website design and content creation.
  • Graphic design proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (including In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong understanding of various social media platforms and best practices, as well as how to leverage for different audiences.
  • Experience in WordPress.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience with fundraising communications a plus.
  • Ability to organize and perform work without direct supervision.
  • Excellent accuracy and the ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Excellent grammar, writing and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to positively interact and influence diverse audiences.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with internal and external clients.
  • Experience with Google Ad grants, search engine optimization and Google Analytics.
  • Attention to detail with ability to accurately handle a large volume of administrative work.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • A Bachelors degree in Communication, Marketing or related field. Masters degree preferred, will consider commensurate experience.
  • A minimum of five years in a communication office leading or providing professional experience in the skills required showing increasing responsibility.
  • Proficiency with computers and standard business machines.
Special Working Requirements
