Position Summary: Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Senior Content Manager will lead and manage all content initiatives for Prostate Cancer Patient Voices (PCPV) - a patient-centered website from the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF). PCPV is dedicated to amplifying the real-life experiences of patients, caregivers, and clinicians to drive awareness, foster connection, and support prostate cancer education and advocacy. This role will play a key part in shaping and expanding the reach of the initiative by collaborating closely with stakeholders across the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem, including pharmaceutical partners, medical professionals, patients, and creative contributors. The position requires strong project management skills, experience in marketing and pharmaceutical agency environments, and a deep commitment to human-centered storytelling.

Essential Functions:

Content Strategy & Development

  • Develop and maintain content in alignment with grant funding and project objectives.
  • Conduct annual refreshes of website copy, incorporating research and clinician collaboration.
  • Ensure all content reflects brand voice and fulfills grant deliverables.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as the main liaison with external web developers for content updates.
  • Coordinate quarterly with the primary pharma sponsor to align on content strategy.
  • Participate in monthly strategy and planning meetings with PCF's marketing team to support PCPV grant development.
Web Content Management
  • Manage website updates through a CMS, ensuring timely and accurate publication.
  • Collaborate with web developers to troubleshoot, QA, and implement site changes or enhancements.
Interview & Video Production Coordination
  • Lead all patient, caregiver, and clinician interview efforts.
  • Organize interview logistics including scheduling, locations, and film crew coordination.
  • Work with an interviewer contractor to meet interview quotas.
  • Collaborate with a video editor to produce edited footage and montages using transcripts.
Design & Marketing
  • Collaborate with a graphic designer bi-annually to update assets for the website, email, and social media.
  • Design and write monthly email campaigns, including pharma-sponsored messages.
  • Create eye-catching social media graphics to support brand engagement and visibility.
Analytics & Optimization
  • Pull and analyze monthly web traffic and engagement reports.
  • Use insights to suggest strategies to expand reach and improve engagement.
Required education and experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Health, or a related discipline
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in content strategy, content management, or direct marketing
  • Prior work experience in a marketing or pharmaceutical agency environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing content initiatives within healthcare, life sciences, or other regulated industries
  • Hands-on experience developing and executing digital content for websites, email, and social media
  • Experience coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders, including medical professionals, sponsors, and creative teams
  • Familiarity with the structure and requirements of grant-funded projects and healthcare communications
  • History of producing patient- and clinician-facing content with sensitivity and strategic intent
  • Proven track record of overseeing multi-channel content programs from planning to execution
Required Skills/Competency:
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a focus on human-centered content
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
  • Adept at collaborating across disciplines - including design, marketing, video, and external vendors
  • Skilled in using content management systems (CMS), email marketing platforms, and analytics tools
  • Comfortable analyzing data and using insights to inform content strategy and optimization
  • Deep understanding of compliance considerations in healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing
  • Ability to translate complex medical concepts into accessible, engaging content
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset
  • High attention to detail and quality, especially in regulated or sponsor-funded environments


Position type and expected hours of work: Senior Manager-level
full-time, typically 8:00 am-5:00 pm, five days a week, but can expect to work on weekends and more than 40 hours a week infrequently (due to travel). This role is in-office 4 days per week. Applicants must be local to Los Angeles or willing to relocate.

Travel: This role requires approximately 20% travel annually to attend major conferences to discuss grant opportunities, conduct quarterly interviews with patients, caregivers, and clinicians, and participate in the annual UCSD Patient Summit to facilitate in-person interviews.

Physical Demands: Bending sitting, lifting (less than 20 pounds, non-repetitive), driving, plane travel etc.

Salary Range:
$110,000 - $135,000 commensurate with experience
