Base Pay: This role has a minimum base pay from $16.78 per hour with higher starting pay available based on experience.

Purpose: Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team and provides seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Responsibilities include meeting with customers, understanding their project needs, educating them on project requirements, and creating design concepts that incorporate their personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) OR 6 years interior design experience in lieu of education
• Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years
• Prior retail/sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite
• Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position

Essential Functions:

• Build and maintain relationships with residential and professional customers
• Greet store customers and support design walk-ins
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking and referrals
• Advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetic solutions
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy and timely communication
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects and achieve sales goals
• Support company initiatives and model best practices
• Stay updated on current design trends
• Utilize design applications like Salesforce, MyProject, etc.
• Participate in professional affiliations such as ASID, NKBA
• Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

• Limited travel by car may be required
• Exposure to warehouse environment and moving vehicles; moderate to noisy noise levels

Physical/Sensory Requirements: Medium work capacity, involving exerting force, handling objects, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and crouching.

Store Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
