Pembrooke and Ives is seeking a Senior Designer with at least 7 years experience, primarily in Commercial Projects, to work closely with Junior Designers, Intermediate Designers, Project Managers, and Studio Directors. The role involves providing development, production support, and coordination throughout the project delivery process as a member of the design team. The ideal candidate is dependable, energetic, with a can-do attitude and exceptional attention to detail. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication & Coordination:

  • Coordinates and communicates effectively with project stakeholders including team members, clients, vendors, building management, consultants, contractors, and sub-contractors to convey project information in a timely and accurate manner.

Project Drawings, Documentation & Deliverables:

  • Oversees the execution of the decorating/design concept from implementation to completion in conjunction with the Studio Director.
  • Prepares, develops, and produces concept images, mood boards, and project drawings such as surveys, conceptual sketches, floor plans, elevations, electrical plans, reflected ceiling plans, lighting plans, sections, millwork drawings, and details, with corrections as necessary.
  • Oversees the production of 3D models and renderings, project documentation, and schedules (materials, finishes, hardware, fixtures, appliances).
  • Produces a qualified contractors list, reviews bid documents, and leads value engineering to meet budget goals.
  • Reviews and comments on consultant drawings, shop drawings, finish samples, and responds to RFIs.
  • Inspects and documents services provided by contractors and sub-contractors for design intent, and oversees final punch list production.

Meetings & Presentations:

  • Participates in meetings with clients, project teams, contractors, and vendors; prepares agendas, notes, and minutes.
  • Oversees the creation of client presentations.

Sourcing, Selection & Specification:

  • Sources, selects, and specifies project materials, finishes, fixtures, hardware, appliances, and equipment in accordance with project budget and schedule.
  • Maintains finish samples and organizes the materials library.

People Leadership:

  • Mentors and motivates design teams, fostering mutual respect and trust.
  • Supports diversity and ongoing education through site visits, lectures, and trips.
  • Participates in hiring and encourages innovation to achieve design excellence.

Skills & Qualifications

  • High taste level with knowledge of high-end market trends in space, lighting, fabrics, furniture, etc.
  • Good time management skills, able to handle multiple deadlines, and make decisions quickly.
  • Presentable, confident, discreet, with an outgoing demeanor.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office; Studio Designer a plus.
  • Bachelors Degree in Interior Design and/or Architecture.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience with Interior Design or Architectural firms.

This is a hybrid role.

Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 (depending on experience) + Performance-Based Bonus
