Job Summary:

Job Summary:

The Marketing Director plays a central leadership role within this environmentcollaborating closely with peers across Communications, Creative, and Digital & Web Strategy to deliver campaigns that support enterprise growth, clinical service line visibility, and patient engagement.

The Marketing Director also operates within a broader leadership cohort that includes the Community Relations Director and Development Directorroles focused on community outreach and philanthropic advancement. Director-level positions lead distinct teams, and they are expected to function as a cohesive leadership team, working collaboratively to advance Erlangers mission, brand, and strategic objectives.

This servant leader is accountable for the growth and development of team members. This comes in the form of regular coaching, the gift of feedback, career path planning, performance reviews and overall professional development.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop, manage, and continuously refine Erlangers service line marketing framework in collaboration with enterprise leadership and peer directors.
  • Translate organizational goals into actionable marketing strategies that are measurable, targeted, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Serve as the senior liaison between marketing and clinical/operational service line leaders.

Team Management & Development

  • Directly manage a team of Marketing Strategists, Marketing Specialists, and provide oversight and dotted-line leadership to the Marketing & Business Development Specialist.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development pathways for all team members, including supporting Specialists in their evolution toward future Strategist roles.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide real-time feedback, and foster a high-performing, accountable team culture.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate daily with the Communications Director, Creative Director, and Digital & Web Strategy Director to ensure integrated planning and execution across all campaigns.
  • Partner with the Community Relations Director and Development Director when appropriate to support community-facing initiatives

and ensure message alignment across channels.

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the SVP of Marketing &Communications, offering input on enterprise marketing priorities and cross-departmental collaboration.

External Partner Collaboration & Vendor Stewardship

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with external partners including (but not limited to) creative agencies, media buyers, insights and data consultants, and other contracted marketing vendors.
  • Ensure external collaborators are aligned with Erlangers brand standards, strategic priorities, and campaign objectives.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for partner coordinationmanaging timelines, approvals, feedback loops, and shared accountability for performance outcomes.

Campaign Oversight & Execution

  • Guide the development of marketing strategies for Erlangers clinical service lines, ensuring alignment with clinical priorities, patient access goals, and external dynamics.
  • Review and approve creative briefs, campaign timelines, and measurement plans in partnership with internal and external collaborators.
  • Champion brand consistency, consumer relevance, and messaging clarity across all service line efforts.

System Engagement & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build trusted relationships with service line administrators, clinical leaders, physicians, and executives across Erlanger to inform strategy and expand marketings organizational reach.
  • Regularly engage with operational and clinical leadership across the systemmost prominently within service linesto collect insight, align priorities, and strengthen internal collaboration.
  • Actively represent the marketing department within the broader healthcare system, demonstrating visibility, empathy, and curiosity across teams and disciplines.

Measurement, Reporting & Optimization

  • Ensure all marketing campaigns are built with defined KPIs and outcomes tied to growth, volume, and market share goals.
  • Work with data and analytics partners to track performance, surface insights, and adjust strategies based on results.
  • Present performance dashboards and marketing impact updates to executive stakeholders and system leadership.

Education:

Required:

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field

Preferred:

Masters degree

Experience:

Required:

  • 710 years of progressive experience in marketing, including healthcare, integrated campaigns, or service line growth strategy
  • 3+ years of experience working within a marketing team or cross-functional group
  • Demonstrated success leading complex campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Experience collaborating with senior leaders and clinical stakeholders in a mission-driven environment
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics, CRM systems, digital platforms, and project management tools

The Marketing Director leads Erlangers service line marketing strategy and operations. Responsible for managing a team of Marketing Strategists and Specialists, the Director translates system priorities into high-impact, insight-driven marketing initiatives that drive patient experience, referral development, and clinical service line growth.

This individual is both a strategic architect and an operational leaderensuring campaign planning is sound, execution is flawless, and internal relationships are collaborative and efficient.

The Marketing Director is expected to work laterally with peer Directors in Communications, Creative, and Digital/Web to maintain seamless integration across marketing functions and uphold a shared commitment to excellence.
