Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitates the daily operations of the library. Provides timely and accurate services to library users, processes and handles library materials, supervises student workers, and has some administrative responsibilities. Opens and/or closes library as required.
Supervises student workers Handles and processes library materials in a variety of formats with accuracy Uses appropriate software to process materials in the library catalog and other systems Maintains accurate records for library materials in the Integrated Library System and other systems as required Plans, make decisions, and communicates with appropriate library personnel Other duties could include but are not limited to the following;
Creating and maintaining student employment records Training student workers on library processes and procedures Participation in library committees Assistance with Interlibrary Loan Services Providing research assistance to library patrons Troubleshooting and resolving problems with library printers and equipment Communicating with other libraries and departments regarding access to resources and materials
Other duties as assigned. Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required. Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
One year of relevant experience in a public, academic or school library or comparable work setting. Additional college education may be exchanged year for year to meet the experience requirement. Ability to make decisions. Take initiative. Attention to detail. Follow oral and written directions. Keyboarding, filing, MS Office Suite programs, office procedures; bookkeeping may be required. Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications
